Anna Friel And Partner David Thewlis Break Up
After 9 years together, Anna Friel and ‘Harry Potter’ star David Thewlis have called it quits. Of course they did – it’s still 2010 which is the year of the break up.
A source close to the couple – who have a five-year-old daughter Gracie together – said:
“Things have not been great for a long time and they have tried to keep this quiet to protect everyone.
“It certainly did not help that Anna and David have been forced to live apart for so long, but there are other issues at hand that have made them realize the relationship was over.”
‘Pushing Daisies’ star Anna Friel and David Thewlis still care for one another and are keeping things civil for the sake of their daughter, Grace. A source told ‘The Daily Mail’:
“They do care about each other very much, and the most important thing now is that they both continue to be the best parents they can be for Gracie. “They will have to see each other over Christmas at some point, but hopefully it will not be too painful.”So sorry to hear this. The former co-stars were spotted earlier in the week doing the same thing when photographed outside a restaurant. Perhaps there was more to the story when they were caught in December looking very close and intimate in London during their spell in the West End production of "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Friel has denied rumors of an affair with Cross, although these photos seem to be stirring them up again! Anna Friel has been in a long term relationship with partner David Thewlis for the past 9 years and the two have a 4 year old daughter, 'Gracie'.

By her own admission, Anna Friel has always been generous with her hugs.And the latest lucky recipient is her young West End co-star Joseph Cross.The pair cuddled up close at a London restaurant last week following a performance of Breakfast At Tiffany's.
The 33-year-old actress whispered in 23-year-old Cross's ear before he gave her a goodnight kiss.
The pair have clearly developed a happy working relationship on the show, which features Miss Friel as Holly Golightly, the socialite who captures a young writer's heart - and includes a nude scene.
Cross and Miss Friel, who is the long-term partner of actor David Thewlis, 46, left the Theatre Royal together on Wednesday night and visited a number of bars before ending up at the Wolesley restaurant in Piccadilly.
A friend of the actress, who has a four-year-old daughter, Gracie, by Thewlis, said: 'Joe is a good friend of Anna and David. There is nothing more to it than that.'
The night after the restaurant cuddle, Miss Friel, Thewlis and Cross were seen sharing a taxi as they left the Berkeley Square Christmas Ball.
And on Saturday night after the show, the former Brookside actress and Cross went for a drink with friends at a bar in central London.
They were sharing a rolled-up cigarette in the street when Miss Friel broke off to give Cross a lingering kiss.
Miss Friel admitted she was 'tactile' in a recent interview to publicise her hit U.S. show Pushing Daisies, in which she stars with actor Lee Pace.
She said: 'It's not nice to work with someone as gorgeous as Lee and not to be able to give him a hug. I'm a tactile person and hugs are something I hold dear to my heart.'

It's not the typical traffic-stopping after-show exit we've recently come to expect from Anna Friel.
But after recent pictures emerged of her getting friendly with her gorgeous young co-star, she certainly didn't stick around the stage door as she left the Theatre Royal in London's Haymarket last night.
Instead, she headed straight home to long-term partner David Thewlis, who was there to meet her when she arrived.
Since starting her role as Holly Golightly in the West End adaptation of Breakfast At Tiffany's, Miss Friel, 33, has been snapped in a series of stunning outfits as she leaves each night, stopping to sign autographs or pose for the waiting paparazzi.
But it wasn't her glamorous vintage wardrobe getting all the attention last week after she was seen cosying up to 23-year-old Joseph Cross, who plays Golightly's neighbour Fred Parsons, the role made famous by George Peppard in the 1961 film.
Meanwhile, Cross was snapped leaving the Theatre Royal after Miss Friel had left and made a half-hearted attempt to hide his face from the press.
The pair have appeared to have built a good working relationship on the show, which features Miss Friel as the young socialite - played by Audrey Hepburn in the film - who captures Parsons heart.
But they also seem to have developed an intimate social relationship too, something that could be causing tension between Miss Friel and Harry Potter star Thewlis, 47, whom she reportedly met on a flight to Cannes in 2001.
Last Wednesday, they were photographed out together in London snuggling up to each other in posh Piccadilly eatery The Wolesley before they got into a waiting car, with Cross's face smeared in Miss Friel's trademark red lipstick.
The following night, Miss Friel, Thewlis and Cross - who are all said to be good friends - were spotted sharing a taxi as they left the Berkeley Square Christmas Ball.

It has been more than two months since they last shared the stage.But Anna Friel and her Breakfast at Tiffany's co-star Joseph Cross appeared closer then ever this weekend.The pair have become virtually inseparable since they finished working together in January and have both jetted out to LA where they went out to lunch accompanied by Miss Friel's mother and the actress's four-year-old daughter Gracie.
It comes after the pair were spotted in a lingering embrace outside London's Theatre Royal in December when they were both starring in the play.
At the time, Miss Friel, who is in a long-term relationship with Harry Potter actor David Thewlis, insisted that she and the American were just good friends.
They were also spotted at a nightclub in California last month and having dinner at a cafe.
Thewlis has remained in London, where he is finishing work on the second half of the final film in the Harry Potter series, The Deathly Hallows, in which he plays werewolf Remus Lupin.
Miss Friel, 33, has always insisted her relationship with Cross, 23, is strictly platonic.
