Fantasia Barrino to Haters: I'm Back!

Take notice, haters: Fantasia Barrino is back!

The former American Idol champion, who swears she really was trying to commit suicide a few weeks ago, hasn't just recovered in time to give multiple interviews on the overdose days before the release of her new album.

She also feels good enough to perform an impromptu concert for fans in Las Vegas.

That's exactly what happened Friday night at the Palms Hotel, as Fantasia surprised attendees at Rain nightclub and took to the stage. She announced to the crowd:

"They thought I was finished, they thought I was done. I would never ever stop, I don't care what no one says."

Fantasia proceeded to sing "Bittersweet," along with covers of Prince's "Purple Rain" and Rufus and Chaka Khan's "Tell Me Something Good." She also referenced her recent troubles and added a message:

"I was in the hospital, but now I bounce back. Don't ever let your haters stop you. Don't ever let them stop your destiny."

But will Fantasia's condition put a stop to her publicity efforts? A new report states she's pregnant with Antwaun Cook's child. (thehollywoodgossip)

Fact Or Fiction: Fantasia Planning New Reality Show With Her Boyfriend?

This story just keeps getting more and more... crazy? That's not quite the word I want, but it'll have to work. Radar Online reports that Fantasia has reconciled with her boyfriend and the two are considering doing a reality TV show together.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Fantasia and Antwaun are going to move-in together despite the fact that his divorce has not been finalized. They are talking about getting married and have been approached to do a new reality show about their relationship together."
What, so they can lose all the money after Fantasia is sued for being a homewrecker? Fantasia's family reportedly has reservations about this (big surprise there!)
"Fantasia's family has reservations about Antwaun because he's married and that they also feel that he could be using her for his own ends" says the source. "They feel that she is rushing into things too quickly without thinking it through fully and they have been trying to talk her out of moving-in with him.
"But Fantasia really loves the guy and wants to marry him and start a family too."
I don't blame her family One Bit for being worried.

Part of me hopes this is just a whole lot of drama to drum up publicity for Fantasia's reality TV show, 'Fantasia For Real,' and her new album, but that seems almost as bad as if this is all really happening!
What do you think: fact or fiction? (imnotobsessed)

Cops Confirm Fantasia Overdose a Suicide Attempt; Hear the 911 Call

Authorities have confirmed to E! News that Fantasia Barrino's hospitalization Monday night was the result of a suicide attempt.

Per a just released police report and 911 tape, an EMT unit responded to an emergency call placed at approximately 8:55 p.m. from Barrino's home in Glynmoor Lakes in which an unidentified caller reported that a woman "had taken a bottle of aspirin and she's slowly losing consciousness."

Listen to the 911 Call

The caller, who appears to be a male and made the call from outside the house, answered various questions from the dispatcher, saying the victim (later identified by her manager as Barrino) was "halfway" awake, breathing and not violent.

"The family tried to put her in the shower to try and keep her awake," said the individual.

At that point, the dispatcher ordered them to take her out of the shower while they waited for an ambulance.

The "I Believe" crooner was subsequently transported to nearby CMC-Pineville Medical Center after ingesting the medication, where she remains in stable condition.

The suicide attempt took place just days after Fantasia was named as the other woman in a divorce petition filed by Paula Cook, a North Carolina woman who accused Barrino of having an affair with her husband, Antwaun Cook.

Yesterday, the entertainer's manager, Brian Dickens, suggested that the overwhelming media attention from the suit and the stress of the situation may have left Barrino in a fragile emotional state. (eonline.com)
